    “Based on proven HP
PageWide Technology—currently powering HP Inkjet Web Presses producing 4
billion impressions annually—HP PageWide XL printers offer breakthrough
printing speeds in monochrome and color. Now you can deliver mixed sets in 50%
of the time. Produce combined monochrome and color sets on a single machine and
reduce manual steps associated with separating files and collating the output.
Print GIS map and point-of-sale (POS) poster applications at breakthrough
speeds, and set a new technical document quality standard. HP 841 PageWide XL

  •  Lynn
    Imaging’s online planroom brings
    free file downloads
to contractors on State of Kentucky projects, and DECA signs on to use
eCommunication construction software to manage the documentation and workflow
    of construction projects
    Frankfort, Kentucky
    (PRWEB) July 11, 2015
    Lynn Imaging has entered
into an agreement with DECA to provide construction information management
software services to manage each project from its inception through closeout.
Lynn Imaging will administer an online digital planroom for the bid phase, and
will implement eCommunication software for the project and closeout phases of
    each project.
    Starting July 1, 2015,
contractors will be able to download plans on any DECA project (in the bid
phase) at no charge. Jennifer Linton, Assistant Director of DECA, said, “the
Division of Engineering and Contract Administration is pleased to have Lynn
Imaging under a new contract for their document distribution for construction
projects. One of the best things we will now be able to
offer our customers are free digital downloads on all projects.
    We feel
this will be a huge advantage to the bidding community.” This free distribution
of information will level the playing field for subcontractors who wish to
place a bid on state work. Also, information will now be readily available and
    easy to access.
    In conjunction with this
contract, Lynn Imaging is offering full color, wide-format printer rentals for
a reduced rate of $74.99 per month, and .40 per SF printed in their office. The
monthly fee covers the full color, wide-format printer installed at their
office, any service and maintenance of the printer as well as the ink and paper
used in the printing of bid documents. This helps speed the delivery of
information to contractors who prefer to work with hard copies.
    eCommunication
revolutionizes the documentation and workflow of construction projects. We “are
looking forward to this exciting change in the way we do business,” says
Linton. Lynn Imaging’s eCommunication software will provide faster and easier
access to timely information. This software will increase project
communication, track the workflow and approval of project documents and build
an electronic document closeout for project archives – this also aids in
managing each facility over its lifetime. Ultimately, it will both speed up
project timelines and lower the cost of construction by taking the paper
    process to a digital process.

    For more information,
contact Lynn Imaging at 859.255.1021 or email info(at)lynnimaging(dot)com. DECA

The well-regarded, well-known author/publisher, Dr. Lachmi Khemlani, did an extensive write-up/review of Skysite; see below for the full article:
    Article Summary
    “This review
looks at capabilities of SKYSITE, a cloud-based drawing management and
distribution application specifically for the construction industry that was
recently launched by the leading reprographics company, ARC Document Solutions.
It also explores the larger question of whether a solution like SKYSITE, which
is entirely focused on the document management piece of project management,
even stands a chance of being successfully adopted by construction firms, given
the plethora of established and more comprehensive project management and
collaboration solutions in the AEC industry.”

  • In a previous post the other day, I mentioned
that I was invited to attend the live production of the webinar presentation HP
gave to introduce everyone to its HP PageWide XL systems portfolio.  The webinar was extremely interesting, chock
full of information about the portfolio, about the upcoming launch, and about
the significant resources HP is committing to the launch of the XL line.
For those of you who’ve not seen the webinar
presentation, I asked a representative from PorterNovelli,  the PR firm supporting HP, for links to the
    webinar materials.  Here they are:
    The link
immediately below will take you to the page where you can access the webinar presentationabout HP PageWide wide-formatconducted by HP’s Ramon Pastor on April 9th.  When you access the first page, click on “watch
now”, it will then ask you for your e-mail address, and, after you enter your
e-mail address, the webinar will begin playing.
The webinar presentation was quite interesting!
    The link
immediately below will take you to a pdf file I’ve saved in by Google Drive
library.  This pdf file contains the slides/pages that were presented during the
    webinar
    – about the HP PageWide
    wide-format line of XL systems
    – mentioned above.  Incredibly interesting stuff!:

  • I’m at the
IRgA/ERA Convention in Atlanta, and I’m at the convention because HP invited a
couple of “press” people to the convention, and I’m one of those.
I am considered “press” because of the
    Reprographics 101 Blog.
      HP paid my
travel expenses and my convention registration fee.
(Thank you, HP, for doing that!)
    When I was
at the restaurant tonight, where convention participants were gathered for
food, drink and lots of discussion, nine or 10 people came up to me to ask me
if I had become an employee of HP.  The
first time that happened, I asked that person where he got the idea that I was
now employed by HP, and he pointed to my convention name badge, saying, “HP is
below your name.”   I did not realize
that until that was pointed out to me, since I did not bother to look at what
was on my badge when I picked it up at registration.  So, an “aha” moment.
    I am
employed by Proactive Management Programs, LLC, which is my consulting
practice, and, as most people know, I’m the Publisher of the Reprographics 101
    Blog.
    Although I
very much appreciate HP paying my way to attend this year’s IRgA/ERA
Convention, that does not create any sort of bias on my part, and I know that
HP understands that.  As a blog-publisher
I do my best to report the news – and to express my opinions – in an unbiased
    fashion.
